This project, supported by the OP TAK programme of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, focuses on the development of advanced superconducting components, in particular the production of ceramic superconducting crystals. Combining advanced additive manufacturing with a new growing technique, Single-Direction Melt Growth (SDMG), leads to excellent properties of these materials. This opens up new possibilities not only for the energy industry, but also for other high-tech applications.

“The development and combination of new and existing production methods enables technological advances and creates new markets and business opportunities. The combination of SLM technology with REBCO superconducting ceramics represents a unique concept for using these powerful semi-permanent magnets in larger volumes and more complex shapes. The project, carried out in cooperation with CAN SUPERCONDUCTORS, is an example of a successful partnership between industry and academia. adds Tomáš Jetmar, the manager of NCK MATCA.

Reflecting the importance of innovation and interdisciplinary cooperation in creating a solid foundation for technological progress, the project will run until the end of 2026.
