CEPLANT was established in 2010 by the Masaryk University as its R&D centre, carrying out applied research of plasma sources and in-line plasma treatment. The project aims to establish a regional R&D centre to respond, quickly, flexibly, and expertly to the demand made by small and medium businesses, as well as corporate industrial partners, and to match that demand with supply of low-cost plasma nano surface treatment solutions. It concentrates on research focused on charge physics, plasma diagnostics and modelling, plasma surface treatments, thin layer deposition, plasma modified surface diagnostics and the research and development of plasma generators. CEPLANT operates at national and international levels and is financed, among others, from EUROSTARS 2 and IraSME.
CEPLANT is a successful R&D centre recognized both in Czechia and in Europe. Since it was established, the company has implemented 40 projects in applied research and has registered 10 patents. In addition, CEPLANT serves as a centre for key enabling technologies (KET). CEPLANT has created 3 spin-off companies.
