Preprocessing

For creating an FEM task, it is necessary to define constraints; for running a structural analysis, mainly the fixation method of the part in its surroundings needs to be defined.  Another parameter to be defined is loads (forces, moments, pressures, gravitation etc.) acting on the part. This analysis also requires the definition of the material used (either in the linear area or in the non-linear area). Other parameters may include the definitions of contacts, specific linking elements, binding, springs and other elements, defining how individual parts act on each other. Before the analysis is run, it is necessary to set up a solver type and parameters, as well as the required outputs of the analysis (deformation, tensile force, energy etc.). The task for running a solver can typically be fully prepared by preprocessors.
